As a lifetime Girl Scout, Carolyn is an advocate for youth and passionate about protecting spaces where children can connect with nature, build life-skills, and disconnect from technology. She is working towards licensing to become a Registered Art Therapist and Counselor and brings a background in marketing, business and personnel management, client support, and graphic design.
Violet is a Chippewa Valley and Nawakwa girl at the core! She has been a Girl Scout since the age of 5 and has attended Camp Nawakwa for 13 years, as camper, volunteer, and then staff member. As Founder & CEO of Uwemi Wellness, she works as a full spectrum doula & is currently studying to become a midwife. She partners with, works, and volunteers for a variety of other organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. She is an active member of the Altoona mosque. Her most important roles are muslim, mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
Stemming from her roots as a school counselor, in retirement Sherry continues to share her skills and expertise in supporting and growing youth-based organizations. Always a Girl Scout, she sees the need for outdoor opportunities and spaces for kids to grow and feel safe.
Angela brings her business consulting experience and marketing background from her work with fortune 500 companies to support the efforts of the Our Nawakwa team. She shares a love for Girl Scouting and Camp Nawakwa as a former Nawakwa camper, summer Nawakwa camp staff member, and GS Gold Award recipient.
Jaclyn has diverse professional experience in both the private and public sectors, providing her with a unique perspective in her role on the Our Nawakwa board. With a background in Human Resources, Election Administration, Event Planning, and a degree in Organizational Communications, Jaclyn brings valuable expertise to the table. She also shares her fond memories of Camp Nawakwa from her youth with her own daughters and the Girl Scout Troop that she currently leads. Jaclyn is hopeful that she can bring her passion and experience to contribute to the Our Nawakwa board successfully.
Amanda is a dedicated and experienced professional with a passion for empowering and supporting youth activities. With nearly 15 years of invaluable volunteer experience with the Girl Scouts, her commitment to fostering leadership skills, instilling confidence, and promoting teamwork makes her an invaluable asset to our community.
Armed with a degree in Business Management, Amanda brings a strategic and organized approach to her role on the Our Nawakwa board. Her academic background, coupled with hands-on experience in project management, positions her as a reliable and effective leader within the organization
Growing up as a camper at Nawakwa and various other camps, Nicole Verdon brings her passion for the opportunities experienced at camp to continue for future generations. Completing her Masters of Public Health and over a decade in Executive Director roles in Healthcare, Nicole brings to the board her leadership and operations background to assist in moving Our Nawakwa dreams to reality. Living in Menomonie with her partner and big Our Nawakwa supporter, Josh, Nicole hopes that the work she does inspires her children and the children of our community, to prioritize the earth and our connection to it.
